Changes???
For the month of January, what do you think about these changes? Combining all cardio, strength, and stretching as an hour and still 10 points? Having a daily bonus that will consist of a category chosen at random. If you have completed that category you get five extra points. Also if you don't want to do it anymore that's perfectly fine just let us know. Let's just try to stop the fudging... zucchini bread a veggie, shopping cardio, etc. Let put in an honest and worthwhile effort. As far as workouts go they should be something that is an activity that you normally wouldn't do. For example: I couldn't count walking to campus and back as cardio. I do that anyways, but running at night is a different story. I don't normally just jump on my feet for a nice jog, so that would be a cardio workout! Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. I love you all!

!!A NEW YEAR!!
November Winners: Team Gaim- (Scott & Amy)
Nov 30-Dec 13: Team Max- (Laurie & Amy)
I thought we could also start over each month with a new monthly over-all winner. So instead of a winner after the three months are over, we can have a new over-all winner each month. If there ends up being a tie, we will just check to see who ate the best- or had points left over. Also if the individual who has the best individual score has already won on their team twice for that month, I was thinking we could give the over-all prize to the person with the next highest score.
If everyone agrees with continuing with the two week schedule, it will be $7.50 every two weeks. We will split about $50 every two weeks among the winning team, depending on how many participate- it may be a little less. This will still leave around $50 for the overall winner.
Please let me know what you think, still just working out some of the details. Let me know if you have questions. I believe January will be our last month:)
New Teams Starting Jan 4th are:Laurie/Susan
Jeff/Scott
Jenn/Jim
Amy/Josh

Checking In
If you do decide to continue for the next two weeks, Dec 24-27th will be free days.
For New Years Eve and New Years Day we will have 10 Free points a day to use however we choose. (20 points between the two days)
A few other things we have discussed is allowing Kev and Josh, and any others working overtime to get full points if they work out three days a week.
If there is a day you are sick, you may give yourself your score from the previous day. What does everyone think about one sick day every two weeks?
Also for the Month of November I think it was either team Perfection or team Gaim that won. Just let us know what your final scores were.
For December I need payments from everyone except Karen and Josh. (Jeff, if you still want to use the $ I owe you for the baskets and body wash toward December just let me know:)
Thank you everyone!

About Thanksgiving: Think about waiving the dessert 3 points for Thursday through Sunday for everyone but still doing workouts and fruits and vegies, etc. Or we could do an extra 15 minutes of cardio for those days if we choose to have dessert. ( I know calorie wise it doesn't really compensate for a piece of pie but might remove some of the guilt.)
It also might be nice if we only had to work out 5 days a week for those who have night church callings and obligations or for us old folks who need a rest. Or we could give extra points for those who work out 6 days a week to make up for any poor choices through the week.
I think I would be more motivated if I was seeing any change at all on the scales--any at all. Any suggestions for me???
I talked to partner Jenn and we would like to allow treats during Christmas-you only get them once a year. Again, it could be a trade off with more workout time or eliminate the dessert/candy points for that month. Or you could do extra credit for those who choose not to eat any treats at all. Think about it.
Also is zucchini bread, banana bread, really a fruit??? Love, Mom

What do you guys want to do?
1. What do you want to do about Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving can be a free day, but do you want more free days then that? Obviously we don't want to many so we just end up where we started.
2. Would you guys rather go to weekly or stay at monthly? The concern being that we want to keep people motivated and once someone has a bad day we don't want them to fee like they can take the whole month off. We we did go weekly we could switch partners around more, and if we all put in 16 dollars a month the winning team could splint 40 dollars a week.
Anyway let me know what you think. Have a good Thanksgiving

Step your GAIM up!!!!!!
1) Had the pleasure of awakening at 5:30 this morning for a nice trip to the gym. Not only did an early morning run invigorate mind, soul and body for a thrilling day of actuarial work, but I still am left with the prospect of a delightful evening stretch.
2) Baby Carrots. Need I say more.

3) Exotic Fruits

3) My stomach has a break from digesting this:

4) I now look like this guy:

5) Finally, what greater joy than having some of these for a mid-morning snack. I feel like a kid on Christmas morning - EVERY DAY!!!

In summary, I am not a selfish man. I want others to feel of my joy and happiness. STEP YOUR GAIM up and you too can feel of this.

So far I have only eaten out 4 times this week. It ought to get better from here. I would like to propose that we can eat out once a week if we want and choose the day that works best for us. Having Sunday off from eating doesn't really enable any of us to go out socially for a little fun. I'm still craving sugar but today was better than yesterday. Love, Mom
#1- What do you think we should do if someone (mostly Wah) doesn't have time to workout. If he is going to work at 6 and working til midnight I don't think he should be punished if he is providing for his family. Does anyone have ideas what we could do in the situation. Some suggestions have been to make eating healthy more points for him, having his partner make up the time he wasn't able to work out, giving him the points if he has a good track record of working out on the other days giving him the points. Let me know what you think. I want to make it so it's fair for everyone.
#2- What about when people are sick? Any ideas here?
#3- As far as candy and sweets use your best judgement.
Thanks for your help. If you have any other concerns or things you want changed let me know. It's been fun having some motivation and a reason to workout:)

Perfect Score!
What is a serving size for fruits and veggies?
Many experts suggest we need from five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables every day. That is a total. Older or inactive women and smaller children need at least three servings of vegetables and two servings of fruit. Growing kids, teen girls, most men and active women would eat at least four servings of vegetables and three servings of fruit everyday. Teen boys and active men should eat at least five servings of vegetables and four servings of fruit. Unfortunately many people fail to eat even five servings each day.
Here are some typical serving sizes for fruits and vegetables:
Fruits
one banana
six strawberries
two plums
fifteen grapes
one apple
one peach
one half cup of orange or other fruit juice Vegetables
five broccoli florets
ten baby carrots
one roma tomato
3/4 cup tomato juice
half of a baked sweet potato
one ear of corn
four slices of an onion You may notice that serving sizes on the Nutrition Facts Label of packaged fruits and vegetables are not always the same size as the one-half cup serving size that the USDA has set for the food pyramid. For example, some frozen vegetable blends may list the serving size as 3/4 cup, which would meet one and one half of your vegetable need for the day.
One serving of a fruit or vegetable juice is four ounces. V8 Fusion claims to meet one serving of fruit and one serving of vegetables in one eight ounce glass. A large glass may hold about 12 ounces, which would give you three servings of fruits and vegetables
